HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Dozens of employers will be available at a job fair at the Minuteman Commons here on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The Airman and Family Readiness Center’s Transition Assistance Program is sponsoring the event.

“If you have access to the installation, we welcome you to stop by and meet with the employers attending this year’s event,” said Dan Mazzuca, Hanscom’s Transition Assistance Program manager.

The job fair is free and no registration is required.

Representatives will accept applications and speak with prospective employees.

“Federal, state and private sector employers of all sizes, hiring at all levels, in numerous career fields will attend this year’s job fair,” said Mazzuca.

Mazzuca recommends that personnel come prepared.

“We encourage those seeking employment to bring updated copies of their resume and be prepared with an elevator speech about their experience,” he said. “I would also encourage anyone attending to dress as though it’s an actual job interview, because employers will have rooms available for on-the-spot interviews.”

To help individuals prepare, the A&FRC is offering a private sector resume writing workshop.

"Private Sector Resume Writing" will take place Sept. 26 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Community Support Center, Building 1240. A “Federal Resume Writing and USA Jobs” workshop Sept. 27 from 8 a.m. to noon will assist those seeking federal service. Preregistration is required.

Employers scheduled to attend the job fair are U.S. Secret Service, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, General Electric Aviation, CVS Health, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Oasis Systems, Raytheon, Massachusetts and New Hampshire State Police, Verizon Wireless and many others.

To register for the workshops, or for further information about this year’s job fair, including a complete list of employers attending, contact the A&FRC at 781-225-2765 or email 66.fss.fsfr.cmb@us.af.mil.
