HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The 66th Air Base Group Communications and Information Division Client Service Center here will soon complete consolidating information technology support to better serve the Hanscom workforce.

Scheduled to open in April, the newly established “IT Central” in Building 1726 will house the Client Service Center Call Center, IT Appointment Center, IT Contingency Operations Center, technology equipment and the Local Registration Authority.

“The new location will serve as a one-stop shop for all things IT at Hanscom,” said Genevieve Flaherty, SC Client Information Systems manager.

The new CSC location is equipped with a conference room that can serve as an IT triage location when required, according to SC officials.

Other improvements include additional appointment times, enhanced technician space, an overflow area to support urgent IT issues and visitor parking.

This is not only better for customers, according to officials, but the central location also improves support capabilities for technicians.

“It’s advantageous having all techs under one roof so ideas can be exchanged and personnel can collaborate for quick customer support,” said Flaherty.

Customers should continue to initiate IT service requests by utilizing the vESD application on their desktop, calling the CSC at 781-225-4357 (HELP) or emailing Hanscom.CSC@us.af.mil.

“The majority of requests can be resolved remotely, but in the event a customer needs to bring their equipment to us, we are ready to support them,” said Flaherty.

If technicians determine the need for hands-on technical support, customers will receive an email confirming their appointment time at IT Central. Once on-site, customers will check in via a kiosk before meeting with a technician.

“We have a very IT-heavy mission here at Hanscom, and our team is ready to support,” said Flaherty.

Flaherty added that most of the work to create Hanscom’s IT Central was accomplished by Mark Franzoni, Lee Trickett and Robin Houck via self-help.

The CSC is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
