66 MSS people, offices earn AFMC awards

Two Hanscom people and four offices were recognized by Air Force Materiel Command for their efforts and accomplishments during the past year with 2007 Mission Support Awards. 

"This is an awesome accomplishment by the men and women of the 66th Mission Support Squadron as well as the Military Equal Opportunity Office," said Col. Tom Schluckebier, 66th Air Base Wing commander. 

The award winners will now go on to represent AFMC in the Air Force-level competition.
"Representing AFMC and Hanscom at the Air Force level competition is an honor," said Lt. Col. Mark Bell, 66 MSS commander. "I feel very confident that when the Air Force results are released, Hanscom will have even more reason to celebrate the great work being done by our personnel."


The 66 MSS AFMC-level competition winners are:

Tech. Sgt. Bradford D. Traylor, 66th Mission Support Squadron Manpower and Organization Flight superintendent, won AFMC's Manpower and Organization Award for Professional Excellence for the installation-level noncommissioned officer category. Sergeant Traylor was recognized as a phenomenal planner and dynamic noncommissioned officer. He performed more than 3,000 contract validations and filled more than 1,000 Air Force and tenant unit requirements.

Janet H. Larsen, 66th Mission Support Squadron Electronic Systems Center Staff and Cryptologic Management analyst, earned AFMC's Manpower and Organization Award for Professional Excellence for the installation-level senior civilian category. Ms. Larsen ensured proper accounting of AFMC's largest pool of contractors and accurately processed more than 36,000 manpower standard implementation, reason code, remark and special experience identifiers over the past year.

The Hanscom Military Personnel Flight won AFMC's Gerrit D. Foster Jr., Outstanding Military Personnel Flight, Category II award. The entire flight was lauded for its total team effort in receiving an "outstanding" during the recent Operational Readiness Inspection and for expertly processing more than 200 separations due to force shaping.

Hanscom's Education and Training Center won AFMC's Nathan Altshuler Outstanding Educational and Training Flight, Category I-B award. The Education and Training Center personnel were recognized for their tireless commitment to customer support and making major contributions ensuring Hanscom's people and mission succeed.

Hansom's Military Equal Opportunity Office was named the best category III office in AFMC. The MEO team of highly trained professionals was recognized for ensuring all base personnel were kept aware of and complied with all policies and procedures relative to equal opportunity and fair treatment.

The Hanscom Airman and Family Readiness Center won AFMC's outstanding A&FRC flight, category II award. The Hanscom A&FRC has set the standard for others to follow and has received high praise for its various programs that impact all facets of Hanscom life.
