The Airman and Family Readiness Center encourages members of the community here to learn about savings through Military Saves Week scheduled Feb. 22-27. The theme for this year's savings campaign is: "Make Savings Automatic."

Each year, installations around the world join forces to motivate, support and encourage all members of the military community to save money, reduce debt and build wealth through a week of financial focus and education.

The Department of Defense Financial Readiness Campaign partnered with Military Saves to create Military Saves Week in 2007 to motivate service members and their families to improve their financial situations. To date, more than 200,000 individuals have taken the Saver Pledge, a commitment to begin the journey toward financial freedom.

The Military Saves Pledge is a commitment to exercise good financial habits, improve financial readiness and encourage other Americans to do the same.

Military Saves at www.militarysaves.org provides helpful tips for successful saving, establishing credit, paying down debt, planning for retirement and more.

To encourage and help service members save more successfully, the Airman and Family Readiness Center is partnering with Hanscom Federal Credit Union to offer military families and Defense Department civilians information on money management, goal setting, credit scores and more.
