Base residents and the workforce now have additional dining options available after base officials opened the Resiliency Center Snack Bar following a ribbon-cutting ceremony Aug. 12. Earlier this summer, officials also opened a Subway restaurant at the Hanscom Main Exchange.

SunCo Gourmet offers lunch and dinner at the Snack Bar Monday through Friday in Building 1531. Subway is open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. as well as Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"One of my first priorities when I arrived here was to expand the food options for people who work and live on base," said Col. Michael A. Vogel, installation commander, to those attending the ceremony that officially opened the Snack Bar.

Additional dining was something 66 FSS officials were eager to provide to their customers.

"Since 2012 we have been going through a process of trying to repurpose this facility [Bowling Center and Resiliency Center] into a more functional space for our valued customers," said Vic Hayes, 66 FSS director, who noted that many of the changes since 2012 were the result of an Air Force-directed FSS transformation program. "That process began with making this facility into a Resiliency Center consisting of Hanscom Lanes, Information Learning Center and Fitness and Sports Center."

Hayes added the last piece FSS remained focused on was adding food options to the services offered. Base officials considered the location when deciding on the added food service.

"The Snack Bar inside the Resiliency Center is strategically located in the center of Hanscom Air Force Base," said Brian J. Colonna, 66 FSS Sustainment Service Flight chief. "Much of the base population is located within walking distance to this facility and that will allow customers to not lose parking spots where they work."

In June, officials from the Army and Air Force Exchange Service opened a Subway restaurant at the Hanscom Main Exchange food court.

With these new additions, Hanscom personnel now have a variety of lunch and dinner options.

SunCo Gourmet will also offering food options at The Tavern inside the Minuteman Commons Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

"In addition to offering options during the week at the Resiliency Center and The Tavern, SunCo Gourmet will offer catering for events hosted at the Minuteman Commons," said Tina Carter, 66 FSS operations manager.

Catering services include corporate meetings, wedding receptions, religious events, anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, reunions, holiday parties and more.
