When winter weather makes traveling a challenge, Hanscom personnel have a number of options available to find out if certain base operations are affected or delayed arrival is authorized.
Options utilized by the base to get the word out to employees about the status of inclement weather delays or closures include the AtHoc alert system, the COLD line, the public website, and social media.
Employees and base residents should first call the COLD line at 781-225-COLD (2653) or visit www.hanscom.af.mil for early morning notification. Base status is also posted on Facebook and Twitter at www.facebook.com/HanscomAirForceBase and twitter.com/Hanscom_AFB.
The COLD line and Hanscom's website will be updated as soon as possible after a decision has been reached. The base status will be posted in the Weather/Operational status section on the home page.
