Welcome to Hanscom Air Force Base. Hanscom is in Middlesex County, Mass., and touches the towns of Bedford, Concord, Lincoln and Lexington -- the birthplace of America. Hanscom is approximately 20 miles northwest of Boston; 25 miles south of Nashua, N.H.; and 85 miles from Portland, Maine. Hanscom is about four hours from New York City.

Relocation Assistance
Stop by the Airman and Family Readiness Center, Bldg. 1218, (781) 225-2765, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for a personal welcome, extensive area information, personal invitation to all arrival events and loan locker items to borrow while awaiting household goods. Use the lending library, computers, phones, fax and more in the Resource Center. ATTENTION: Inbound Hanscom personnel and DoD civilians with relocation questions may e-mail 66.FSS.FSFR.CMB@hanscom.af.mil.
Information for Active Duty Air Force personnel
Base gas mask fit testing for Active Duty Air Force personnel are every Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. and Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m. Please ensure that you have not smoked, chewed gum, or used perfume at least 30 minutes prior to being fit tested. Personnel must stop by Base Supply to get their gas mask and size prior to being fit tested. The fit testing is conducted at building 1212. If you have been notified of a short notice deployment call (781) 377-2181 to get scheduled or for other questions.
