10/7/2010 - HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass.  -- Hispanic Heritage Month activities will wrap up with a grand finale luncheon on Oct. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Minuteman Club ballroom.

The keynote speaker for the luncheon is Mayor William Lantigua from the city of Lawrence.

"Mayor Lantigua is the first Hispanic mayor in the commonwealth of Massachusetts," said Staff Sgt. Andre Olaciregui, president of the Hispanic Heritage Month committee. "We're excited to hear his perspective on being a Hispanic in a leadership position."

After Mayor Lantigua finishes speaking, the audience will be entertained with a musical performance by Sonia Berte, as well as several different Latin dance demonstrations.

The menu will include mixed greens with vinaigrette dressing and a choice of baked chicken with white rice and beans or beef stew with rice on the side. The cost is $12.95 for club members and $14.95 for non-members. Cash, check or credit cards will be accepted.

To RSVP for the luncheon, contact Sergeant Olaciregui at 781-377-5030. Personnel in the 66th Air Base Group may also contact Airman 1st Class Katherine Castano at 781-377-2403 and members of the Electronic Systems Center can call 781-377-7581 to reserve a seat. The last day to RSVP is Oct. 8.
