2/22/2012 - HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The top performers of 2011 will be recognized during the Electronic Systems Center's annual awards banquet March 9 at the Minuteman Commons.

Nominees hail from all organizations throughout ESC, including geographically separated units. More than 50 personnel competed in categories that include Airman, NCO, Senior NCO, First Sergeant, Company Grade Officer, IMA, Field Grade Officer and Junior-, Mid- and Senior-Grade civilian of the year. Six teams will also be competing in the "Outstanding Team" category.

Dr. Sheila Widnall, professor of Aeronautics at MIT and former Secretary of the Air Force, is scheduled as guest speaker.

The banquet's cocktail hour is set for 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Dinner choices are roast turkey, baked haddock or butternut squash ravioli. Attendees will enjoy music performed by the Air Force Band of Liberty.

Tickets, which are limited, are now on sale and will be available through March 2. The cost is $35 for GS-5/E-5/O-1 and above and $30 for GS-4/E-4 and below.

The banquet will honor the winners in each category, who will be announced at a separate ceremony on Feb. 24.
