11/7/2012 - HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass.  -- Federal employees have one more week to contribute to the Combined Federal Campaign. CFC wraps up on Nov. 16, but there is still time to fill out a pledge card or make a one-time donation.

So far, $151,000 has been raised--51 percent toward the goal of $295,000.

The CFC installation manager reminds personnel that there are many charities that are in need.

"There are so many charities that can aid those affected by the recent hurricane in New York, New Jersey and elsewhere," said 1st Lt. Elicia Killingsworth, CFC installation manager. "The important thing is to find a cause important to them and donate to it."

Employees may also participate in a Scholastic Book Fair Nov. 12 through 16 in the lobby of the 66th Medical Squadron clinic. Proceeds will benefit the CFC. For more information, contact Master Sgt. Stacy Carmichael at 781-225-6264.

"I encourage units to be creative and organize fundraisers amongst themselves. From bake sales to coin drops, all donations add up and can make a difference towards any charity during the CFC," said Killingsworth.

The CFC offers the opportunity to donate to more than 3,000 local and international charities that represent a variety of issues and concerns. Employees have the option of making a one-time contribution or a payroll deduction.

The one-time contribution can be accomplished by filling out a pledge card. The payroll deduction method can be completed by filling out a pledge card or going online at www.easternmasscfc.org and clicking on "Pledge Now."

For more information or to make a donation to Hanscom's CFC, contact 1st Lt. Killingsworth at Elicia.Killingsworth@hanscom.af.mil.
