2/27/2013 - HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass.  -- When John Hall began working for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, Ronald Reagan was the President and a gallon of gas cost $1.12.

Hall, who is an auto worker at the Car Care Center, started his career in 1986 and has spent the last 27 years serving generations of Soldiers and Airmen.

"Serving those who protect our freedom is extremely rewarding," said Hall. "It hasn't felt like a job to me - it's more of an honor and a privilege to have been able do this for so long."

While the job may have evolved over the years, Hall's dedication and devotion to the troops has never wavered.

"Thinking back on the past 27 years reminds me of what an honor it has been to serve those that serve," said Hall. "Energy prices may go up and politicians change, but waking up and going to work alongside the best customers in the world in 2013 is just as exciting as it was my first day on the job."

Other associates at Hanscom that have served for more than 20 years are: Glenn Smith, 39 years; Jo Ann Grant, 29 years; James Timothy, 28 years; Luanne Ouellette, 28 years; Mi Yon Croxford, 26 years; Debbie Timothy, 25 years; Peggy Gavin, 24 years; John Allen, 23 years; and Kathi Zeller 21 years.
