Hanscom to participate in Lexington's anniversary

2/27/2013 - HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass.  -- Members of Hanscom AFB will be a part of the town of Lexington's 300th anniversary celebration March 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at Lexington High School, 251 Waltham St.

Lt. Col. Niles Cocanour from the Battle Management Directorate, Maj. Peter Toscani from the C3I and Networks Directorate, Tom Fredericks from the 66th Air Base Group, Dr. Richard Wolf, base historian, and Dr. Robert Atkins from MIT Lincoln Laboratory will be participating in a military history panel that will highlight Lexington and its military achievements, including the work done at Hanscom. The panel is scheduled to be held in the auditorium.

Both of the directorates and Lincoln Lab will also showcase some of their current work to attendees with interactive displays. Planned displays from the directorates currently include: the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node, Combat Survivor Evader Locator, Eagle Vision, Global Broadcast Service, Joint Tactical Radio System, Tactical Air Control Party - Modernization and the Tactical Automated Security System. Lincoln Lab is planning to have science, biology and engineering displays, including an infrared camera and sensors. The displays will be held in the gymnasium.
