HMS students selected for choir festival

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – (left to right) Audrie Lee and Emily McSwain have been selected to participate in the Massachusetts Music Educators Association Eastern District Junior Festival in March. During auditions in January, 1,042 students from eastern Massachusetts performed. Of those, 480 were chosen for the festival. Hanscom readies emergency response

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Emergency responders prepare for the possible arrival of an Air Force C-5B, which had lost pressurization over the Atlantic Ocean at approximately 11 a.m. Feb. 8. Alerted that the aircraft might be diverted to the base, Hanscom officials quickly mobilized a full emergency response effort. The plane was ultimately routed to Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee, Mass., where it landed without incident shortly after 2 p.m. The flight originated at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, and had been headed for Dover AFB, Del.
