Patricia Rose, Air Force Materiel Command’s senior individual mobilization augmentee, speaks with members of the Hanscom Pride Month Committee after the first-ever Hanscom Pride Month luncheon at the Minuteman Commons June 25. The general, who served as the guest speaker at the luncheon, spoke about “Yesterday’s Struggle, Today’s Heritage.” Rose is thought to be the highest-ranking openly gay officer in the U.S. military. HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Col. Lester A. Weilacher, 66th Air Base Group commander, signs a proclamation recognizing June as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month in the Brown Building May 29 as Command Chief Master Sgt. Craig A. Poling and Pride Month committee members look on. Among the events planned throughout the month, are movie showings June 11 and 18 in the O’Neill Auditorium from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. as well as a luncheon June 25 at the Minuteman Commons featuring Maj.
