EPA recognizes Hanscom office building for energy efficiency
HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – An exterior view of Building 1604, Hanscom’s newest office building, June 5. Base officials recently learned the building earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR certification, which signifies that the building performs in the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide for energy efficiency and meets strict energy efficiency performance levels set by the EPA. HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Crews work on the traffic lights at the corner of Barksdale and Marrett streets Sept. 27. The new signals feature modern actuated controls, a protected left turn, pedestrian cross walk signals and emergency vehicle preemption that will automatically change the traffic signals to give priority to emergency vehicles.
