Nurses Week proclamation signing

Lt. Col. Randall T. Bosch, 66th Medical Squadron administrator, signs a proclamation in honor of National Nurses Week 2018 at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., May 7, while Lt. Col. Jennifer Bankston, left, 66 MDS chief nurse, and Senior Master Sgt. Rebecca Marrs, 66 MDS enlisted functional manager, look on. National Nurses Week is held each year on May 6 through May 12, Florence Nightingale's birthday. While the first National Nurses Week was celebrated in 1954 – the 100th anniversary of Nightingale’s famous mission to the Crimea – it wasn’t until then-President Ronald Reagan signed a proclamation in 1982 that May 6 would henceforth be National Nurses Day.
