RAO hosts 27th Annual Retiree Day

Hanscom AFB -- Hanscom's 27th Annual Military Retiree Day, sponsored by the Retiree Activities Office, will be held April 28. Military retirees from all services and ranks and their spouses are invited to attend. 

The day's festivities will begin with the opening ceremonies, starting at 9 a.m., at the Base Theater, which will include a presentation of the colors, a welcome from 66th Air Base Wing Commander Col. Tom Schluckebier and an RAO update regarding issues and concerns which affect retirees. The opening ceremonies will also feature a presentation by David Van Steenburg, 66th Services Squadron director, detailing the services and facilities available to retirees at Hanscom.

More than 35 information services tables, featuring representatives from both on- and off-base agencies, will be available for perusal and consultations at the Minuteman Club from 10:45 a.m. to noon. Available agencies will include the 66th Medical Group, Tricare, the 66 ABW Legal Office, US Family Health Plan, services for recreation opportunities, social security, the Veterans Administration and veteran service agencies. 

The retiree day luncheon will begin at noon. Entrees include a choice of baked scrod or roast beef and gravy and costs $16.50 per person. Reservations must be received by Friday. For more information call the RAO at (781) 377-2476. Following the luncheon will be a presentation on "Coast Guard Anti-Terrorism Efforts," given by Cmdr. Frederick Meyer, U.S. Coast Guard sector commander, Coast Guard Sector, Boston.
