HSC Welcome planned 
The Hanscom Spouses Club will hold its annual welcome event Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Minuteman Commons. The theme for this year's event is, "Fall in Love with New England."

Free on-site child care will be provided. There will also be free light appetizers and cash bar. Military spouses of all branches, active and retired, as well as civil service spouses are welcome to attend.

The Hanscom Spouses Club is an all-inclusive, non-profit organization that has donated more than $15,000 in support of Hanscom AFB and $37,000 in scholarships to high school seniors and eligible spouses. HSC offer a variety of events and activity groups to members throughout the year.

Punt, Pass, Kick
Punt, Pass, Kick is for base personnel Sept. 24 through 27 beginning at 5 p.m. on field four near the Fitness Center. Each participant is allowed one punt, one pass and one kick during the competition. Scoring is based on both distance and accuracy. Scores are determined from where a contestant's ball first makes contact with the ground. The distances of the balls are measured to the exact foot. The final score is the total of the three events, punt, pass and kick.

Acquisition Officer Association Chapter meeting scheduled
A Hanscom Acquisition Officer Association Chapter meeting for all those in program management, financial management, contracting, logistics, engineering and science will take place Sept. 26 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the base conference center. The mission of this organization is to "Develop professional acquirers through three pillars: education and training, mentoring and networking."

Tavern set to reopen Sept. 28
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Sept. 28 at 4:30 p.m. to reopen the Tavern in the Commons. The Tavern closed earlier this year for remodeling. Federal Resume Writing & USAJOBS
This federal resume writing workshop will take place Sept. 27 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. The workshop will offer attendees tips to simplify the application process, reduce the number of incomplete applicants, improve access to materials and more.

AFA Fall Golf Tournament
The Air Force Association Paul Revere Chapter’s annual Fall Golf Tournament is scheduled Sept. 27 at Butter Brook Golf Club in Westford, Massachusetts. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and a shotgun start begins at 8 a.m. for a four person scramble. Cost to participate in the event is $175 per person for industry and $95 for government. Cost includes golf, prizes and lunch. Various sponsorships are available for individuals or companies.

5K Run for Stem
The 5K Run for Stem is planned Sept. 29 at Minuteman High School in Lexington, Mass. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Race start time is at 9 a.m. Cost to participate is $20 prior when registering early, $30 for those registering Sept. 29.

All proceeds benefit the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association's Educational Foundation. AFCEA provides scholarships and grants benefitting elementary, middle school and high school students, as well as cadets/midshipmen and furthering their interests in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Autumn Classic Fun Run
Registration begins at 11 a.m. at the Tennis Bubble on Oct. 17. Race starts at 11:30 a.m. Entry is free and open to all Defense Department ID cardholders.

Restoration Advisory Board meeting notice
The public is invited to attend a Restoration Advisory Board meeting Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Bedford Town Center Building located at 10 Mudge Way, Bedford, Massachusetts. The meeting will provide an update of the ongoing restoration at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass.

Toastmasters Club
Conquer your fear of public speaking with a supportive group who are all doing the same. The Hanscom Researchers Toastmaster Club meets at the Hanscom Federal Credit Union on base, the second, fourth and fifth Wednesday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. All are welcome to visit.
