Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Tennis Bubble on Nov. 17. Race starts at 9 a.m. Entry is free and open to all Defense Department ID cardholders.

Education Services Open House planned
The Education and Training Center will host an Open House Nov. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Building 1728 for members of the workforce and eligible family members. Attendees will learn about general college counseling, the Community College of the Air Force, military and civilian tuition assistance, other financial aid programs available, military testing, upcoming lunch and learns and much more.

Hanscom Christmas tree lighting
Officials will host the annual Christmas Tree Lighting outside Outdoor Recreation in Building 1530 Nov. 28 at 4:30 p.m. The event begins with Christmas music, then the arrival of Santa A reception is planned at the Minuteman Commons for cookies and photos with Santa.

The annual Menorah Lighting Ceremony is scheduled at the chapel Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. The Menorah Lighting commemorates the eight-day celebration of Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights. During each night of the festival, an additional candle is lit. Refreshments will be served, the children’s choir will perform and all are welcome to attend.
AFCEA Unsung Hero Awards presented
The Lexington-Concord Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association will present the Unsung Hero Awards Dec. 5 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Minuteman Commons. AFCEA members and a guest are invited, and asked, to participate in a non-perishable food drive by donating a canned good or other item.
HSC Breakfast with Santa
The Hanscom Spouses Club is hosting Breakfast with Santa Dec. 8 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Minuteman Commons. The morning will include children’s activities and a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus. The cost is $12 a person and children under 2 years old are free. Conquer your fear of public speaking with a supportive group who are all doing the same. The Hanscom Researchers Toastmaster Club meets at the Hanscom Federal Credit Union on base, the second, fourth and fifth Wednesday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. All are welcome to visit.
