FBI task force presentation planned
January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. In recognition of this, a presentation by the FBI Boston Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Task Force on Internet Safety will take place Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. in the O’Neill Auditorium. All are welcome to attend.

Boots to Business class planned
Military personnel and their spouses are invited to attend this two-day class Jan. 22 and 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Community Support Center. Attendees will learn how to start, manage and finance a small business, including development of a business plan, legal considerations and more. This class is presented by the Small Business Administration.

Career technical training class workshop scheduled
This two-day workshop for transitioning service members will take place Jan. 24 and 25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Community Support Center. The class addresses such topics as selection of a reputable career and technical training school, the application process, how to use certification finder web tools and other internet resources that identify licensed occupations and a military occupational code translator. Technical training experts and Veterans Administration vocational education counselors will be available to meet individually with attendees.

HSC monthly social event planned
Join the Hanscom Spouses Club Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Hanscom Family Housing Community Center at the corner of Ent and Patterson Roads for a healthy social event. The cost to attend is $12 per person. After some healthy refreshments, organizers will lead attendees in packing a mason jar salad for people to have for lunch the following day. A Zumba and yoga class will follow. Attendees are encouraged to wear workout clothes and bring a yoga mat if able.

Hanscom Welcome and Information Fair
New to Hanscom or know someone who is? Curious what programs and services are available on base? Personnel are welcome to stop by the Community Support Center on Jan. 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to meet representatives from various organizations and learn how they support those who live, work or play at Hanscom.

Toastmasters Club

Conquer your fear of public speaking with a supportive group who are all doing the same. The Hanscom Researchers Toastmaster Club meets at the Hanscom Federal Credit Union on base, the second, fourth and fifth Wednesday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. All are welcome to visit.
