A new mobile app provides base personnel with information about events happening on base, the most-up-to-date news, local resources and much more. iPhone users may download the "USAF Connect" app via the Apple App Store. Android users can download at Google Play. Once downloaded, users should then select "Hanscom Air Force Base" when prompted from the Favorites portal.
Secret service special recruiting, information session

VA education benefits workshop planned
This workshop provides information about Department of Defense and Veteran's Adminstration education benefits to include Post-9/11 benefits that may help veterans pay for or offset the cost of tuition, housing, books and supplies. The workshop will take place Aug. 22 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Airman and Family Readiness Center for all those with base access.

AFCEA Fall Golf Tournament
The Lexington-Concord Chapter of AFCEA will sponsor a golf tournament Sept. 9 at the Atkinson Resort and Country Club located in Atkinson, New Hampshire. The entry fee for majors/GS-13s and above is $80 per person for current AFCEA members and $95 per person for non-members. The $95 fee includes a one-year membership. The cost is $65 per person for Enlisted Airmen and captains/GS-12s and below. Non-AFCEA members who qualify as Young AFCEANs (age 40 and below) will be provided a new membership as part of the $65 registration fee.
Entry fees cover all expenses: greens fee, golf cart, range balls, dinner, door prizes, coffee and doughnuts, plus a contribution to the AFCEA Scholarship Programs.

2019 AFCEA 5K for STEM
A 5K Family Fun Run and Walk will take place at Lexington Minuteman National Park in Lincoln, Massachusetts, on Saturday, Sept. 14 beginning at 8 a.m. The event is an AFCEA Educational Foundation 501(c)3 not-for-profit association. The cost to participate is $20 per person for advance registration or $30 per person for registration on Sept. 14.

Hanscom Job Fair coming next month
The annual Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., Job Fair will take place Sept. 24 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Minuteman Commons for all those with base access. Airman and Family Readiness Center officials expect more than 50 employers seeking qualified applicants to fill current job openings. The event is free and no pre-registration is required.
