For base event information, visit the calendar page on the 66th Force Support Squadron's website or the internal community calendar that is only accessible with a common access card on an Air Force network computer.

Local community events can be found by visiting the Bedford, Concord, Lexington and Lincoln or the Boston and Massachusetts calendar sites.

A new mobile app provides base personnel with information about events happening on base, the most-up-to-date news, local resources and much more​. iPhone users may download the "USAF Connect" app via the Apple App Store. Android users can download at Google Play. Once downloaded, users should then select "Hanscom Air Force Base" when prompted from the Favorites portal. 

 

AFMC leadership to host virtual town hall
Gen. Arnold W. Bunch, Jr., commander of Air Force Materiel Command, and Chief Master Sgt. Stanley C. Cadell, AFMC command chief, will host a command-wide virtual town hall, Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 3 p.m. The senior leaders, joined by AFMC Executive Director Patricia M. Young, will discuss current topics of interest and address questions from personnel across the command.

The live event will be hosted on the Microsoft Teams Commercial Virtual Remote (CVR) platform and will be open to AFMC personnel. The link to the session will be sent through internal email channels prior to the event. AFMC personnel can submit questions before the town hall on the event page on the AFMC Facebook or by sending an email to afmc.pa.workflow@us.af.mil. Pre-event submissions will be accepted until Jan. 27.

All personnel are highly encouraged to submit questions by the deadline to increase the likelihood that they will be answered during the live event. Any questions submitted during the event will be answered subject to time limitations.

Hanscom personnel invited to town hall
Colonel Katrina Stephens, installation commander, and Chief Master Sgt. William Hebb, installation command chief, will host a virtual town hall meeting Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. via Zoom.

Personnel can stream the event at https://www.zoomgov.com/j/16117877718, meeting ID: 161 1787 7718.

Black History Month events planned
The Black History Month committee will host virtual activities throughout February to commemorate Black History Month. 

The committee will host a Storytellers event Feb. 11 at 11:30 a.m. and a trivia event Feb. 16 beginning at 1 p.m. Both events will be held via Zoom. The purpose of these events is to recognize the contributions that African-Americans have made to society throughout our nation's history.

A&FRC Workshop: Effective Interviewing
This workshop will discuss preparation, execution and proven strategies for a successful interview. Officials will discuss how to be effective with both telephone and Skype interviews. Sample technical and behavioral interview questions will be provided along with tips on how to answer these tough questions. 

Bob Dolan, assistant director for Career Services at MIT, will teach the workshop virtually through Zoom. All those interested in attending are asked to email the Airman and Family Readiness Center at 66.fss.fsfr.cmb@us.af.mil to register. Once registered, officials will send attendees a link to the Zoom workshop.

 

Toastmasters Club
Improve your relationships by developing communication, public speaking, evaluation and leadership skills with Toastmasters. The Hanscom Toastmasters club meets via Zoom on the first, second, fourth and fifth Wednesday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. All are welcome to participate.
