HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. –To inform the Hanscom-area acquisition workforce about test efforts and capabilities, the 96th Cyberspace Test Group, Detachment 1, located here, will host its semiannual test workshop Oct. 20.

The focus of the upcoming virtual event is automated testing, developmental testing of software for DevSecOps, and cybersecurity.

According to Capt. Samuel Howard, test engineer, 96 CTG Det 1, the intent of the workshop is to provide overall awareness of services and capabilities to meet Hanscom programmatic needs.

“The topics and themes we’re highlighting are largely based on trending Department of Defense efforts and customer requests from post-workshop surveys,” he said. “After the event, attending members will know there is test support at all levels and phases of their mission sets. We are committed to evolving the test community for the needs of the customer.”

Members of the 45th, 46th and 47th test squadrons will provide presentations on software test capabilities, the automation of functional software testing, software cybersecurity, and mission planning and software testing.

“These workshops not only convey current test and cybersecurity capabilities, tools, and resources available, but they also promote cross-talk and real-time discussions among the test and acquisition communities,” said Howard. “Ultimately, our goal is to help streamline connections to the right test entities and help program personnel obtain the support needed.”

All attendees must RSVP to participate. Slots are only available for military members and Department of Defense civilian employees and contractors.

The event is expected to begin at 1 p.m. and conclude by 5 p.m.
