HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The Hanscom AFB Integrated Resilience Cell will host a Caring for People Forum at the Minuteman Commons here June 20 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The forum will center around four topics related to quality of life at Hanscom AFB: welcome support, spouse and family engagement, community resilience, and organizational connectedness.

“This is a chance to talk about what we need as a community, and how we can generate change now with the resources we have,” said Sydney Herminghaus, a Hanscom AFB Integrated Resilience specialist.

All those with base access are invited to participate. Lunch will be provided.

“By coming together and talking about what we need, we can find common denominators to our obstacles, and then brainstorm how we can solve them,” said Herminghaus.

Organizers say participants will take an active role in prioritizing initiatives, and driving tangible action that will impact the installation community.

“This is a great opportunity to pitch an idea you’ve had to make the quality of life at Hanscom better, but never knew how to make it happen,” said Herminghaus.

Individuals can register at www.surveymonkey.com/r/CaringForPeople, or at the QR code. Once registered, users should select which focus group they want to belong to, with a secondary option.

Herminghaus said representatives from Hanscom’s helping agencies will be on site to help facilitate conversation and answer questions during the forum.

“There’s no one better to enact change than those of us who experience life at Hanscom Air Force Base every day, and we encourage everyone to sign up,” she said.
