The Air Transportation Function provides ground support for transient military and civilian charter aircraft as well as provides passenger and cargo movement for the Department of Defense (DoD).

Services:

  1. Provide general purpose/special purpose ‘We Drive It’ (operated by LRS personnel) and ’You Drive It’ (operated by the customer) vehicles and transportation support to installation and geographically separated units.
  2. Operate shuttle services and door-to-door deliveries as requested.

Ground Transportation Operations meets ground transportation requirements for DoD personnel.  The ground transportation section also supports its customers transporting DoD cargo and equipment to units on and away from Hanscom AFB.

  2. Supports cargo deployment function (cargo inspection and manifesting)

The Cargo Movement Section receives and distributes DOD cargo and equipment to units on Hanscom AFB, and to geographically separated units.  CMS assists DOD customers shipping general, hazardous materials and classified cargo.

  1. Provides permanent change of station/TDY booking services
  2. Acts as Contracting Officer’s Representative
  3. Passenger deployment function (passenger processing and manifesting)

The Passenger Movement Section receives and processes travel requests from DOD and associated personnel traveling on permanent change of station, temporary duty and other orders.
