HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- The Defense Manpower Data Center recently released a new DEERS appointment system known as "ID Card Office Online."

With the new system rolling out sooner than planned, the previous RAPIDS Appointment Scheduler will now shut down with current appointments transferred into the new system.

The ID card office at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., is open and serving military and civilian employees in need of an initial CAC or seeking reissuance of a CAC expiring within the next 30 days. The ID card office is open on Mondays and Wednesdays between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Anyone who encounters issues with the new system may email the 66th Force Support Squadron Customer Support at 66FSS.FSPS.MILCUSTOMERSUPPORT@us.af.mil for assistance.

With the transition, customers will see expanded service with the new website, including the ability to manage DEERS-related issues/updates, as well as create appointments from the new ID Card Office Online portal at idco.dmdc.osd.mil/idco. Customers will also have the ability to search for their nearest "ID Card Office Online" and click on "ID Card Office Online - OSD.mil."

Personnel can also now do online renewal for retiree, dependent and 100 percent disabled veteran ID cards. Instructions and application are located on the Hanscom Force Support website at www.hanscomfss.com/military-personnel.

Department of Defense officials announced in April that Military Personnel Flights are extending Uniformed Service ID cards expiring on or after Jan. 1, 2020, and authorizing continued benefit use through Sept. 30, 2020, to comply with recent Under Secretary of Defense guidance.
