A new mobile app provides base personnel with information about events happening on base, the most-up-to-date news, local resources and much more​. iPhone users may download the "USAF Connect" app via the Apple App Store. Android users can download at Google Play. Once downloaded, users should then select "Hanscom Air Force Base" when prompted from the Favorites portal. 

 

2024 Motorcycle Mentorship Event 

UPDATED: Due to the weather forecast on July 25, the event will now take place on July 26

The 66 ABG Safety Office is hosting a motorcycle mentorship event July 25 (weather depending, weather date July 26) starting at the Hanscom Conference Center. The event is scheduled to run from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and will consist of a preseason briefing, motorcycle training modules, T-CLOCS inspections, and a group ride to visit "The Wall That Heals" memorial set up at Devens, MA.. This event is highly encouraged for all Hanscom military motorcycle riders. DoD Civilians, Retirees, Tenants, and other service motorcycle riders are also welcome to attend. The Safety Office is also seeking volunteers from the Team Hanscom riding group to assist with teaching the modules and the group ride.

Smooth Move seminar 
Members of the community are invited to attend a Smooth Move seminar July 30 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Community Support Center in building 1240. Attendees will participate in a hands on demonstrations of electronic change of station resources. This seminar is designed to familiarize service members with benefits, entitlements and processes related to all moves. Mandatory voting assistance program briefing provided.

Fitness classes, training offered 
The Hanscom AFB Operational Support Team offers free strength and conditioning classes every weekday to enhance wellness and help active-duty members and the community achieve their fitness goals.

The classes, which incorporate strength training, conditioning, mobility, and core training, emphasize proper technique, community support, and lifelong exercise habits. They are ideal for those preparing for their fitness test, needing assistance with the body composition assessment, or wanting to learn more about exercise equipment and programming.

Classes are open to anyone aged 16 and older with base access, the classes are designed for all fitness levels, with exercises modified according to individual abilities. Sessions are held Monday through Friday at noon at the Fitness and Sports Center. Classes last approximately 45 to 60 minutes, including warmup and cool-down periods.

Hanscom Jewish Community Summer Meet, Greet, & Learn
The Hanscom AFB Chapel Team will host a Jewish Community Summer Meet, Greet, & Learn event with Ch, Rabbi Ezra Frazer at the Chapel Annex on Aug. 6 from 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm. The event is open to to all with base access and will provide the Hanscom community with an opportunity to enjoy a light kosher meal and learn about Jewish Military Ethics.

Hanscom clinic offering school and sports physicals
Do you have school aged children receiving care at Hanscom AFB clinic? The Hanscom clinic is offering school and sports physicals on August 6 and 15. These appointments will be an opportunity to complete any required paperwork to allow students to start the school year or participate in sports. During the appointment, patients will be able to receive any required vaccinations, screen for lead, and have Asthma or Allergy Action plans completed. Due to time constraints, these appoints will NOT be used to address any new or chronic issues, receive medication refills, or used for ADHD follow-up.

Newcomer's in processing & Hanscom Connect Info Fair
This class which is mandatory for all new to Hanscom ADAF/DoD civilians, will include briefings essential to the adjustment to Massachusetts life. The event includes an Info Fair with local organizations/agencies. In-person attendance requested to include those on situational telework agreements. A virtual attendance option is available ONLY for GSU members and individuals with remote telework agreements. Spouses are welcome!

The event is Wednesday Aug. 21 from 8:00 am - 3:30 pm, the location is TBD.

Federal Resume Writing
Members of the Hanscom AFB community are invited to attend a Federal Resume Writing class taught by certified federal career coach Dan Mazzuca, Thursday, Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Community Support Center in building 1240. This workshop will teach the basics of resume writing, how to locate essential skills and keywords to include, how to write accomplishment statements, formatting for electronic submission, and much more.

Developmental Special Duty Panel
Curious about developmental special duty? Join the Hanscom Top III, Hanscom Rising 6 and the 319th RCS for a panel discussion Thursday Aug. 22 at 11:00 am at the Hanscom Conference Center, where experienced servicemembers discuss the unique challenges and rewards of those vital roles. Gain insight, knowledge, and learn what is required for each career.

VA Home Loans
Join us Wednesday Aug. 28 from 9:00 am - 10:30 am  at the Community Support Center, 10 Kirtland St., to learn about the VA Home Loan process. Topics covered will include: recent changes to the program, qualifying based off of time in service, mortgage lending basics, how VA compares time and paper wise. Also discussed: who really sets the interest rates, discount points, processes and approves your loan, types of properties that can be financed, and credit & income qualification requirements.

Attend our next advanced resume writing course Thursday Aug. 29 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, for in person attendance the location is the Community Support Center 10 Kirtland St and for a virtual attendee, a ZoomGov link will be provided a few days ahead of the workshop. The workshop is taught by Certified Career Coach, Dan Mazzuca.

Toastmasters Club
Improve your relationships by developing communication, public speaking, evaluation and leadership skills with Toastmasters. The Hanscom Toastmasters club meets via Zoom on the first, second, fourth and fifth Wednesday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. All are welcome to participate.
