HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, MASS. - As National Police Week approaches, the 66th Security Forces Squadron here is gearing up for a week of activities to honor law enforcement officers.

SFS and other law enforcement agencies will observe National Police Week May 15 to 19.

"We are honored to once again host National Police Week activities this year for Team Hanscom," said Maj. Brandon Casso, 66 SFS commander. "Recognizing the daily sacrifices by law enforcement officers, and their families, in protecting our community is what this week is all about, all while remembering those who came before us who gave their lives and made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.”

National Police Week is observed each year during the week of May 15, which is National Peace Officers Memorial Day. The weeklong event was established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962 and has since grown into a nationwide event, with communities across the country honoring the men and women who serve in law enforcement.

“All of Team Hanscom is welcome to join us at the many events planned throughout Police Week,” said Casso.
