HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The 66th Air Base Group will host an annual awards ceremony at the Massachusetts Joint Force Headquarters building here Feb. 9 from 3 to 6 p.m.
The ceremony will recognize the achievements within the 66th Air Base Group.
"Every day, CEOs [civilians, enlisted and officers] of the 66th Air Base Group demonstrate unparalleled commitment to our mission,” said Col. Taona Enriquez, 66 ABG commander. “The annual awards ceremony is an opportunity for us to come together and acknowledge their exceptional contributions to advancing installation capabilities.”
Leaders will present 19 annual awards to military and civilian personnel in individual and team categories.
A catered meal consisting of barbecue will be served. The cost is as follows: E-4 and below, $10; E-5 and E-6, GS-7 and below and NAF-1 through 3, $20; E-7 and E-8, GS-8 to GS-11 and NAF-4, $25; E-9, all offices, and GS-12 and above, $35.
“We are thrilled to announce a change for this year’s awards ceremony,” said Chief Master Sgt. Alan Weary, 66 ABG command chief. “Transitioning from a formal sit-down dinner to an upbeat, football-themed ceremony is a deliberate step toward fostering an inclusive ceremony for the 66th Air Base Group workforce.”
The ceremony will include live music performed by Kevin Dougherty, an Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, Mass. employee.
“We are proud to strengthen our partnerships with the Massachusetts National Guard and Bedford VA Hospital,” said Enriquez. “This event will not only recognize the achievements within our ranks but also highlight the interconnectedness of our broader community.”
Among the awards presented, officials will recognize ABG individual mobilization augmentees and a provider from the Family Child Care program.
Many of the winners will advance to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center level.
The ceremony will stream live on the installation’s official Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/HanscomAirForceBase.
