As we enter summer and school ends, it is time for our annual celebration to honor the return of our Airmen and to thank the families who sacrificed while our deployers fought in our country's wars overseas. I hope everyone enjoys the Heroes Homecoming and Summer Bash today, including the fireworks display. This is, by far, the best event of the season and certainly one of my favorite times on Hanscom Air Force Base. Unfortunately, my family and I are unable to attend due to a loss in my immediate family, but I am sure everyone will have a great time.

As it turns out, this will be the last article I write for Hansconian. I want to wish everybody good luck and Godspeed as my family departs for Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. This has been a challenging and rewarding assignment, and it has been my pleasure to help Hanscom deliver the best products for our U.S. Air Force and joint partners.

I want to thank everyone for their continued service to Team Hanscom and our country. I'd also like to take this opportunity to wish the best to Col. Stacy Yike in her new command role here. I know all of you will achieve great success under her leadership as Team Hanscom faces future challenges. It is with great pride that the 66th Air Base Wing says, "Let Freedom Ring."
