The 66th Logistics Readiness Division Cargo Movement office is open and ready for business. This office can help make your job easier by taking care of your shipment problems.

According to regulations governing the movement of government cargo, all shipments should go through the Transportation Cargo Office. Information in the Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) 4500.9R, Part II, states that the cargo office's function is to provide efficient, responsive, and quality transportation services and ensure compliance with governing laws, directives, systems, or programs and regulations for cargo.

This office is also responsible for inputting an individual's shipments into the automated shipping system to provide intransit-visibility for all government cargo being shipped.

How to go about shipping through the Cargo Shipping office:
If your item is not an Air Base Wing asset, you will need to provide a Miscellaneous Obligation/Reimbursement Document for shipping costs, along with the material being shipped, and a completed Defense Department Form 1149 Requisition and Invoice/Shipping Document. (See instructions for completion of this form at the end of this article).

The cargo office will wrap and package the items to prevent damage during shipment. The office will also contact the carrier, provide the proper shipping documents and load the cargo. After the carrier picks up an individual's shipment, the shipment is released to provide intransit-visibility to the shipping office and the destination through the Global Transportation Network.

Not only are you getting the packaging and shipping completed, the cargo office can trace the packages and tell you where they are at any given time.

The Cargo Movement team is available Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., excluding holidays.

The Cargo Movement office has over 60 years of combined packaging and shipping knowledge. Our office is here to handle shipping needs, and we are only a phone call away.

For questions concerning shipments, you can reach the cargo office at 781-377-4830 or 781-377-6973. The offices are located in Building 1642 at 70 Chennault Street.
