AFLCMC civilian captures AFCEA award

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – A Battle Management program manager was recognized earlier this month at the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association International Conference held in Baltimore.

Marco Zompetti received the 2018 International Medal of Merit for achieving a noteworthy record that combines exceptional contributions to AFCEA with significant professional accomplishments.

“His efforts have helped to enhance and foster the goals and objectives of AFCEA and the communications, electronics, intelligence and global security communities it represents,” said Chapter President Pat Dagle. “Marco is commended for his boundless enthusiasm, tireless effort and documented contributions to our success.”

Specifically, Zompetti was recognized for his performance as an “outstanding manager, expert team-builder, true visionary, enthusiastic motivator and exceptional leader” who has significantly bolstered the Lexington-Concord Chapter’s success in enhancing its strategic partnership between industry and government.

He also received AFCEA’s Meritorious Service Award in 2012.

AFCEA is a non-profit association serving the military, government, industry and academia as an ethical forum for advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, information technology, intelligence and global security.
