HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Hanscom Air Force Base plans to move into Phase 2C of the multiphase Return to Full Capacity Aug. 31.

Officials say the added phase will further bridge the gap between Phases 2B and 3, and will facilitate another expansion of installation access and available services.

“Our team is carefully monitoring national, state and local guidelines to ensure our next steps are deliberate and decisive,” said Col. Katrina Stephens, installation commander. “We are moving from a risk-averse posture to a risk-mitigation posture, while also making sure we keep personnel safety at the forefront.”

Beginning in Phase 2C, Stephens said there will be an increase of Air Base Group personnel to support standardized customer service hours. Customer service functions across the ABG will be entirely open and accessible Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A complete list of services and facilities available in Phase 2C, and other phases, can be found at www.hanscom.af.mil/Coronavirus.

Officials said that employees who have been successfully teleworking should continue to do so, and should not return to the installation without being formally notified by a supervisor.

During this transition, the base commander commends members of the Hanscom community whose adherence to base and local guidelines has enabled the phase progression.

“It’s truly been a team effort getting our community to this point,” she said. “The health and safety of our Hanscom family remains my top priority as we continue our return to full capacity.”

Hanscom AFB entered Phase 2B on July 20.
