HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The Civilian Health Promotion Services and Employee Assistance Program here will host a joint wellness course via Zoom April 27 at 12 p.m.

The collaborative effort, “The Road to Wellness,” will explore how physical and mental health contribute to one’s overall wellness.

“All facets of our well-being are connected, and the programs complement each more than we may realize,” said Britni Bredeweg, Hanscom’s CHPS coordinator.

Bredeweg said CHPS focuses strongly on the physical pillar of comprehensive fitness, like nutrition and exercise, where EAP focuses more on the emotional, mental, and spiritual pillars.

“When we realize our bodies and minds are connected, we start to better understand how to balance and handle stressors,” said Samarrah Clayman, installation EAP coordinator.

Clayman said that both CHPS and EAP are federal civilian-centric programs, but active duty military members are invited to join as well.

“Everyone can learn something from these programs, especially if you work with or supervise federal civilians,” said Clayman.

Participants can access the event at magellanhealth.zoom.us/j/93049867173?pwd=ZEJISDZKYmM1WTkzUkVEVGEvZWw1UT09.

No preregistration is required.
