Blues Mondays are back

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- A recent change in Air Force Life Cycle Management Center guidance concerning the uniform wear for Air Force personnel goes into effect here next week. Lt. Gen. C.D. Moore, LCMC commander, recently sent out a memorandum explaining the changes.

Effective Sept. 9, the uniform of the day for Mondays is any combination of service blues. Uniform of the day for Tuesdays through Fridays will remain the Airman Battle Uniform or flight suit.

According to the memorandum signed by Moore, exceptions to this policy due to mission requirements while performing normal duty should be exercised accordingly and approved by the member's chain of command.

Moore also wrote, "...if you are TDY for meetings to contractors' facilities or public venues, then any combination of service blues is appropriate. If mission requirements deem ABUs or flight suits are necessary to perform your duties during your TDY, use your best judgment."

When personnel are TDY to another unit or military location, they should match their UOD policy and if necessary, coordinate ahead of time to determine which UOD is appropriate for the event.
