  • New COVID-19 policy extends some ID card benefits

    Department of Defense Military Personnel Flights are extending Uniformed Service ID cards expiring on or after Jan. 1, 2020, and authorizing continued benefit use through Sept. 30, 2020, to comply with recent Under Secretary of Defense guidance. Retirees, dependents, 100 percent disabled veterans and other eligible individuals whose affiliation is unchanged may take advantage of this new policy. Mobilized Reservists and their eligible dependents are also authorized to use their Reserve USID cards to retain active-duty benefits.
  • Diagnostic fitness assessments begin Jan. 20 at Hanscom

    The Air Force Materiel Command will offer diagnostic fitness assessments to Airmen starting Jan. 20.
  • Patriot Golf Course opening to the public

    Hanscom’s Patriot Golf Course, located on the Bedford Veterans Affairs Medical Center grounds in Bedford, Massachusetts, will officially allow public access beginning July 15. A waiver authorizing members of the public to play at the course was signed by the director of Air Force Services last month. As part of the process to open the course to the public, Hanscom’s Force Support Squadron sought concurrence from officials at other local nine-hole courses, as well as local community leaders and Bedford VA leadership.
  • Senior leaders present award to FCC provider of the year

    Base officials presented an award to the installation’s Family Child Care Provider of the Year during a presentation here June 19.
  • FSS hosts Community Block Party June 14

    The 66th Force Support Squadron will host a Community Block Party June 14 beginning at 5 p.m. for all those with base access.

  • Child care professionals needed to grow FCC program

    Hanscom’s Family Child Care program is seeking eligible applicants to become certified child care professionals. The FCC program, which is part of the Child and Youth Services Flight, offers alternative care options for children ages two weeks to 12 years old. Robin Morris, the FCC training and curriculum specialist, who oversees the program and conducts initial and annual training for all potential and current providers, said that for many military families, the flexibility and mobility of the FCC program is attractive.
  • Football Frenzy at the Tavern returns

    The 66th Force Support Squadron will once again host Football Frenzy each Sunday beginning at 12 p.m. at the Minuteman Commons here.
  • FCC provider of the year named

    The 66th Force Support Squadron has named Sarah Morin the Hanscom Family Child Care Provider of the Year for 2016.
  • Health expo scheduled April 27

    The 66th Force Support Squadron will host a free Health and Fitness Expo for the entire Hanscom community April 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fitness and Sports Center.Various representatives from on-base helping agencies will be in attendance to provide health screenings, tips, samples, demonstrations, giveaways, information and more.Base
