    A Hanscom team awarded a $4 million integration contract to Northrop Grumman Corp. on Sept. 17 in support of a long-range radar program.

    “SpeedDealer” team awards long-range radar integration contract with production options

    The Theater Battle Control Division, headquartered here, awarded an $8.4 million integration contract to Lockheed Martin Corp. March 26 as part of the Three Dimensional Expeditionary Long-Range Radar Rapid Prototyping program. Program officials said the main intent of the integration effort is to develop, test and field interfaces that allow the radar system to transmit data to other command and control nodes.

    Using a try-before-you-buy strategy, a team within the Digital Directorate, headquartered here, completed a series of live-fly demonstrations Sept. 26 to evaluate three commercially available, production-ready and deployable long-range radar systems.

    Center awards major long range radar contract

    The contract award covers the engineering and manufacturing development of three production representative units, but allows the ability to exercise options for low-rate production, interim contractor support, and full rate production when appropriate.

    $40 million upgrade for Thule radar unifies missile shield sites

    The Air Force awarded Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems a $40 million contract to modify the Upgraded Early Warning Radar station on Thule Air Base, Greenland, in December 2016. Processor and software modifications reduce the amount of equipment required to operate the radar, which reduces energy consumption and sustainment costs over the long-term. The Air Force plans to complete all current modifications by 2020.
