Free OSHA heat stress course offered for federal civilian employees
The 66th Air Base Group Safety Office, in partnership with the Education Center, will host a one-day OSHA course focused on “Heat Stress and Strain in the Work Environment” at the Education Center July 29 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
This in-person class will cover the physiological effects of heat, risk assessments, workplace controls, and the latest industry standards. The course aligns with the 101 Critical Days of Summer safety campaign and is free to attend, but limited to Department of Defense civilian employees only due to funding restrictions. Class size is limited to 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

HanscomFit Challenges promise fitness, fun
In an effort to increase physical readiness and fitness in Airmen and civilians here, the 66th Medical Squadron’s Operation Support Team hosts a physical fitness series. The next offering is July 25 at the Fitness and Sports Center. HanscomFit Challenges are a series of ten hybrid workouts combining strength and cardio exercises in a fun, challenging environment.

Transitioning service members and their spouses can attend a two-day Boots to Business entrepreneurship workshop July 28–29 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Community Support Center, Building 1240. The Headquarters Air Force Office of Special Investigations recruiting team will host a virtual recruitment briefing Aug. 27 for enlisted Airmen interested in becoming AFOSI special agents. Qualified applicants are typically senior airmen through technical sergeants with three to 11 years of service, but anyone is welcome to attend regardless of rank. Prospective agents must be U.S. citizens, age 21 or older, with a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a top-secret security clearance. SFS to host Norwegian Foot March in September
The 66th Security Forces Squadron will host an 18.6-mile Norwegian Foot March Sept. 12 beginning at 5:30 a.m. The event will take place on the Battle Road Trail in Minuteman National Historical Park and in designated areas on base. The ruck march is open to active duty military personnel, with participation capped at 100 members.
