AFA Paul Revere Chapter to host heritage visit to New England Air Museum
The Air & Space Forces Association Paul Revere Chapter #178 will sponsor a heritage visit to the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks March 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The guided visit will highlight U.S. Air Force and Army Air Corps aircraft, tracing the evolution of American airpower from World War II through the Cold War and into the modern era. Participants will receive behind-the-scenes access to select aircraft and storage areas not normally open to the public, in addition to touring the museum’s three public hangars.
Featured aircraft include the B-29 Superfortress, P-47 Thunderbolt, F-100 Super Sabre, A-10 Thunderbolt II and F-15 Eagle, with additional aircraft such as the F-105, F-4, F-86, B-25 and A-26 available for viewing in the storage hangar. Select cockpit and interior access will be provided as part of the tour. Exhibits also highlight New England aviation history, the Tuskegee Airmen and women in aviation.
Transportation will be provided by the Paul Revere Chapter. The group will depart at 8 a.m. from 55 Old Bedford Road in Lincoln, Mass., and return at approximately 5 p.m. The museum is approximately a two-hour bus ride from Hanscom AFB. Participants should bring their own lunch, as no food facilities are available onsite. Space is limited, and advance registration is required. Participation is limited to Hanscom AFB-affiliated military members, federal civilians and active chapter members.
