HanscomFit Challenges promise fitness, fun
In an effort to increase physical readiness and fitness in Airmen and civilians here, the 66th Medical Squadron’s Operation Support Team hosts a physical fitness series. The next offering is Oct. 17 at the Fitness and Sports Center. HanscomFit Challenges are a series of ten hybrid workouts combining strength and cardio exercises in a fun, challenging environment.

Balanced Life Series to focus on stress management, resilience
The Integrated Resilience Office in collaboration with Blue Cross Blue Shield will host a three-part Balanced Life Series this fall to help members of the Team Hanscom community manage stress while supporting mental and physical health.

The series will offer practical strategies to reduce stress, improve nutrition, stay active, and build resilience. Each session will take place from 12 to 12:45 p.m.

                •             Creating Healthy Habits Under Pressure – Nov. 6

                •             Building Resilience and Staying the Course During Stressful Times – Dec. 4

Organizers encourage participants to attend one or all of the sessions to gain tools for improving overall well-being.

Lunch and Learn to explore ‘true cost of convenience’ Oct. 15
The Military and Family Readiness Center will host a Brown Bag Lunch and Learn session Oct. 15 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Community Support Center, building 1240. The session, The True Cost of Convenience, will explore generational approaches to money, hidden costs of convenience, and the psychology behind spending habits. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch.

College application workshop scheduled Oct. 15
The Hanscom Education Center will host the second session of the College and Career Planning Series Oct. 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. at building 1728. The workshop, College Selection and the Application Process, will guide participants through researching schools, understanding application requirements, and utilizing resources such as the GI Bill Comparison Tool. The session is open to transitioning service members, military spouses, and teens. Attendees should bring a laptop or tablet.
