HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The Airman and Family Readiness Center here will host financial readiness programs for the base community throughout Military Saves Week Feb. 27 through March 4.

The weeklong campaign encourages individuals to improve their financial situations.

“The primary purpose of Military Saves Week is to motivate, support and encourage all service members, their families and civilian employees to save money, reduce debt and build wealth through a week of financial focus and education,” said Kathleen Vaillancourt, A&FRC community readiness consultant.

The Military Saves website at www.militarysaves.org provides helpful tips for successful saving, establishing credit, paying down debt, planning for retirement and more.

A&FRC officials encourage members of the Hanscom community to take the Military Saves Pledge. The pledge is a commitment to exercise good financial habits, improve financial readiness and encourage others to do the same.

To encourage and help members of the community save more successfully, the Airman and Family Readiness Center offers information on money management, goal setting, credit scores and more.

“The Airman and Family Readiness Center is partnering with Hanscom Federal Credit Union to provide information, education and personal financial counseling to help individuals and families improve their financial readiness,” Vaillancourt said.
