HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Joint Personal Property Shipping Office-Northeast would like to pass along moving tips to those scheduled to change station this summer.
The Defense Personal Property Systems, or DPS, provides direct communication between service members and the Transportation Service Provider.
DPS is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year from any location with internet access.
Service members must create a DPS account to process and manage a shipment application or delivery request, file a claim and complete the customer satisfaction survey. Users should go to the www.move.mil website and once there access the DPS Login/Registration Process tab at the top of the page to create an account.
All members moving throughout the summer should be aware of the high volume of moves, including pickups, transportation and deliveries through September.
Members should be flexible when selecting a date for packing, pickup and delivery. Never schedule a pickup or delivery on the closing date of a residence, on the last day of residency in an apartment, the day of termination of a lease or on a cleaning date.
JPPSO’s team of subject matter experts are prepared to assist members with their movement needs. Technicians are available to lend a hand with:

A good move depends largely on how much the member gets involved and communicates with their TSP.
Customers are encouraged to keep JPPSO Northeast customer service abreast of their contact information at all times. Doing so will facilitate delivery of vital shipping information and afford JPPSO the best opportunity to meet the customer’s move expectations.
