HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, MASS. -- Army Maj. Gen. Bruce T. Crawford, commander of the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command, will address the Reserve Officer Training Corps scholarship luncheon at the Doubletree Hotel in Bedford, Massachusetts, April 13 at 11:30 a.m.
The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Lexington-Concord Chapter and the Association of Old Crows Patriots’ Roost Chapter team up annually to recognize cadets and midshipmen from 21 ROTC detachments from the Northeast Region.
Together, the chapters award more than $40,000 in scholarships annually to 42 candidates who display exceptional potential as future officers in the U.S. Armed Forces.
The CECOM commander’s participation in this year’s event highlights a continuous series of notable speakers in recent years, including retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Craig Olson, former C3I and Networks program executive officer; Air Force Gen. Robin Rand, former Air Education and Training commander; Rear Admiral Daniel Abel, former First Coast Guard District commander; and former Secretary of the Air Force Sheila Widnall.
Crawford graduated from South Carolina State University as a Distinguished Military Graduate of the university’s ROTC program and commissioned in 1986. During his 30 years of service, the general served in a variety of leadership positions at tactical, operational and strategic levels.
This event provides an opportunity for cadets and midshipmen from Defense Department commissioning programs in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont to hear directly from an active senior leader and interact with local military and civilian personnel, as well as industry leaders.
Online registration is open through April 7 at www.afceaboston.com. Tickets are $15 to $20 for military or government personnel, $35 for industry personnel who are AFCEA members and $45 for all other attendees.
