HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Registration is now ongoing for a variety of graduate and undergraduate degree programs for the fall semester at Boston University and Park University at the Hanscom Education and Training Center here.

Hanscom-eligible students may participate in traditional classroom instruction, or take advantage of live satellite-delivered interactive video instruction.

Boston University offers graduate degree programs for qualified personnel with base access who has earned a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. The university’s military programs are offered under the auspices of Metropolitan College; one of the 17 degree-granting bodies within Boston University.

A Master of Science in Leadership degree program from BU uses an alternate weekend format. Classes run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The program consists of 10 courses and can be completed in 20 months.

A subset of the degree program is the Graduate Certificate in Project Management, a four-course certificate that addresses a project’s risk, costs, communications, scheduling and leadership requirements, as well as the overall management of a program. All four courses can be taken independently for the certificate, or applied to the MS Leadership degree program, or the MS Project Management degree program (offered in Boston or online).

Boston University also offers a 10-course MS Computer Science degree program and a 10-course MS Computer Information Systems degree program, with courses running on weeknights. Registration for the degree and certificate programs for the fall 2017 semester is now underway.

To learn more about Boston University’s programs or to schedule an advising session with Professor Gerard Keegan, contact the Hanscom office at 781-225-5941 or at his Boston University office at 617-358-3095, or by email at gkeegan@bu.edu. Park University's main campus is in Missouri, near Kansas City with roughly 40 campus centers throughout the country, primarily at military bases. Park was established in 1875 and has a long history of serving military members.

The Hanscom Park University center offers general education classes for Community College of the Air Force degree completion and the following bachelor degree programs: Management (with a Project Management or Entrepreneurship track); Management/Human Resources; Management/Computer Information Systems; and Criminal Justice Administration.

Park offers eight-week classes and has five terms per year. The term dates and lengths are the same whether students take classes on base or online. Generally, there are three or four classes offered on base each term.

Park University offers other bachelor’s and master’s degree programs online from which students can choose, though they will be considered distance learning students, rather than Hanscom students.

Registration for the “Fall 1” term ends on August 17. The “Fall 2” term runs from Oct. 16 to Dec. 10.

Active duty students pay the same tuition whether they take classes through a campus center or as a distance learning student. Federal employees receive the veterans’ tuition rate if they work for an agency listed at https://www.usa.gov/federal-agencies/a. Contact the Education and Training Center for tuition questions.

Park University also offers College Level Examination Program and DANTES Subject Standardized Tests on Thursday mornings at the Education and Training Center by appointment.
