HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Registration is now open to all those interested in attending financial workshops Feb. 26 through March 3 as part of Military Saves Week here.

The annual campaign, hosted locally by the Airman and Family Readiness Center, promotes good savings behavior and provides a chance for Hanscom military and civilian employees and their families to assess their own financial savings.

“This year’s campaign will once again seek to motivate, support and encourage all members of the community, including their families, to save money, reduce debt and build personal wealth through educational opportunities available at the Airman and Family Readiness Center,” said Kathleen Vaillancourt, A&FRC community readiness consultant.

Personnel can also refer to the Military Saves website at www.militarysaves.org for tips on successful saving, establishing credit, paying down debt, planning for retirement and much more.

Vaillancourt encourages all members of the Hanscom community to take the Military Saves Pledge on the website. The pledge is a commitment to exercise good financial habits, improve financial readiness and encourage others to do the same.

To help members of the community save more successfully, the Airman and Family Readiness Center offers information on money management, goal setting, credit scores and more at the Community Support Center.

“The Airman and Family Readiness Center is once again partnering for Military Saves Week with the Hanscom Federal Credit Union to provide financial information, education and personal counseling to help individuals and their families improve their financial readiness,” Vaillancourt said.
