HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Military retirees, spouses and retirees' dependent survivors of all ranks and services can attend the Military Retiree Appreciation Day event April 20 at the Minuteman Commons here.

Hosted by the Hanscom Retiree Activities Office, this year's event will begin with an Information Services session from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m., followed by a presentation from the Defense Finance and Accounting Services at noon.

"This annual event is a great opportunity for military retirees to meet with and ask questions to personnel from on- and off-base agencies and organizations,” said retired U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Dean Mottard, director of the Hanscom Retiree Activities Office. “We’re excited to have the Defense Finance and Accounting Services agency here this year to speak about pay for military retirees, their surviving spouses and other family members.”

Other organizations slated to participate in this year’s program include the 66th Medical Squadron, Delta Dental, TRICARE, American Legion, US Family Health Plan, the Veterans Administration and many other veteran service agencies.

Officials from Social Security will also be on hand to speak with personnel.

Anyone wishing to attend this year’s Military Retiree Appreciation Day must have base access. Light refreshments will be available throughout the event.
