HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – At 9:18 a.m., security forces at Hanscom notified the base population of a potential active shooter situation, triggering base lockdown and shelter-in-place. By 9:34, security forces issued an all-clear, and informed the base population there was no active shooter.

The active shooter report and subsequent lockdown was caused by misidentified equipment being setup in one of the buildings. Quick response determined there was no threat.
