Tickets on sale for Combat Dining In

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – This year’s Combat Dining In will take place Sept. 14 at 3:30 p.m. on the softball field behind the Fitness Center for members of the community here.

The guest speaker is Brig. Gen. Michael Schmidt, program executive officer for Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence and Networks.

"The combat dining in will give members of Team Hanscom a chance to experience a part of military tradition and Air Force heritage while at the same time having fun and enhancing esprit de corps," said Master Sgt. Joseph Feigel, this year’s Combat Dining In committee chair.

The event is open to all active duty, Guard and Reserve personnel, as well as Defense Department civilians and contractors.

Organizers will transform the softball field with camouflage netting, piles of sandbags and more. Those planning to attend are encouraged to wear any combination of past or present uniforms.

Tickets will be available through Sept. 7. The cost to attend the event is $10 for E-4 and GS-4 and below; $20 for E-5 and E-6, captain and below, GS-5 through 8 and contractors; $25 for E-7 and above, major and lieutenant colonel and GS-9 through 12; and $30 for colonel and above, GS 13 and above and NH-03 and 04.

The meal will include boneless chicken breast, barbecue pork loin, potato salad and coleslaw. Vegetarian dishes are available if requested in advance.

"Events like these are a great way for employees to enhance the camaraderie felt at Team Hanscom," said Terri Rutkiewicz, committee member.
