HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Education officials recently announced that registration would open April 23 for a leadership symposium here in May.

The Leadership Symposium will take place May 8 and 9 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hanscom Conference Center’s Lexington Room.

Organizers have structured the symposium around the book, “The Leadership Challenge,” written by James Kouzes and Barry Posner. Each student will receive a copy of book.

“Because of the popularity of this symposium, advance notice is being given to allow all members of the workforce to register,” said Jim Muise, director of the Hanscom Education and Training Center.

Registration will open April 23 in MyETMS at 9 a.m. for self-registration.

Those interested in participating are encouraged to coordinate with their supervisor before self-registering.

The symposium will feature presentations from Hanscom senior leaders, including Steve Wert, program executive officer for Digital; Scott Owens, deputy director for C3I and Networks; and Pat Marr, senior site functional for Hanscom’s program managers.

The two-day symposium is open to all Hanscom federal civilians and military members.

Organizers encourage anyone interested to register early as it is on a first-come, first-served basis.
