HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The 66th Force Support Squadron will host a Health and Fitness Expo May 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fitness and Sports Center here.

Various representatives from on-base helping agencies will offer free health screenings, tips, samples, demonstrations, giveaways, information and more.

"The purpose of the Hanscom Health and Fitness Expo is to encourage members of Team Hanscom to explore physical conditioning programs available to them and learn about healthier eating options,” said Jerry Turnbow, Fitness and Sports Center director.

Base agencies participating include the Airman and Family Readiness Center, Chapel, Civilian Health Promotion Services, Employee Assistance Program, Family Advocacy, Military and Family Life Consultant, Outdoor Recreation, Patriot Golf Course and the Youth Center.

“The overall goal is to improve the physical, mental, social and spiritual health of those at Hanscom Air Force Base,” said Steve Grant, Health and Fitness Expo organizer.

For Department of Defense civilians attending, the CHPS information booth will offer a free blood pressure check and cholesterol screening.

Members of the community will also have the opportunity to learn about the many offerings available to them at the Fitness center.
