HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The 66th Force Support Squadron will host a Community Block Party June 14 beginning at 5 p.m. for all those with base access.

The event will include vendors from the base and local community on the softball fields across from the Youth Center on Marrett Street.

“The Community Block Party will be a fun night for Team Hanscom to come together and celebrate the end of a school year and the start of summer break,” said Courtney Cann, 66 FSS program and project specialist, who is organizing the event. “The culmination of this family-friendly event will be a fireworks display at 9 p.m.”

A free barbecue meal that includes pulled pork, barbecue chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon, a variety of side dishes and lemonade will be available during the event.

The Boston-based band Soul Monstah’s will perform live music.

Other free events include large inflatables for all ages, pony rides, balloon animals, face painting, temporary tattoos.

An adult area will be available for beverages and games.

“We encourage base employees who live off the installation to stop by for free food and enjoy some of the fun before they go home for the weekend,” Cann said.

Additional highlights include private organizations on site selling refreshments and more.
