HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The Air Force Sergeants Association Paul Revere Chapter 161 here received chapter of the year during the AFSA International Professional Airmen’s Conference in San Antonio Aug. 25.
The chapter received the 2018 Chapter of the Year Under 500 Members (Small Chapter) award “in recognition of exceptional performance in chapter management that contributes to and furthers the aims of the Air Force Sergeants Association.”
“We are very proud to receive this award and represent Team Hanscom at this conference,” said Staff Sgt. Alexander Stavrinos, AFSA Paul Revere Chapter 161 president. “The award is representative of the hard work our members have put in to improve the quality of life for those enlisted Airmen in the Hanscom community.”
Earlier this year, the chapter hosted the Division One Professional Airmen’s Conference in Burlington, Massachusetts, and received the division’s chapter of the year.
“The recognition the chapter received this week demonstrates the high-caliber Airmen we have leading and supporting this organization,” said Chief Master Sgt. Henry Hayes, Hanscom’s command chief master sergeant and a long-standing AFSA member. “I’m incredibly proud of what they do to develop our Airmen.”
According to the organization’s website, AFSA is open to Air Force enlisted Airmen, both active and retired, including Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve. The organization also offers an auxiliary program for family members of Air Force personnel.
