HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Team Hanscom can join the Town of Bedford Sept. 21 in celebrating the 290th anniversary of the town’s incorporation.

The festivities will begin with the annual Bedford Day Fair, scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Town Hall complex, 10 Mudge Way. The fair includes food, activities and entertainment for all ages.

The event will also feature a parade at 10:30 a.m. The parade route will proceed north on Great Road from Loomis Street and disperse at Mudge Way. Parade participants include Bedford town officials and local organizations, as well as Hanscom representatives Col. Shane Louis, Aerial Networks Division senior materiel leader, and Chief Master Sgt. Henry Hayes, installation command chief.

“Bedford Day is an annual event that enables community members to gather in celebration of the town and each other,” said Amy Hamilton, Bedford Recreation director. “We appreciate being able to celebrate with our friends and neighbors from Hanscom. With the bonds formed through Bedford High School, the Recreation Department and many other Bedford groups, organizations and events, Hanscom residents are truly an important part of the community.”

The Bedford Day events will be held rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, the parade and fair will be rescheduled for Sept. 28. For additional information and weather-related Bedford Day updates, visit www.bedfordma.gov or call the Town of Bedford Recreation Department at 781-275-1392.
