HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Government employees with base access may attend the next Northeast U.S. Fraud Working Group meeting Oct. 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Building 1305 here.
Officials will discuss “Small Business Fraud and Trends” and “Agile Acquisition at Kessel Run.”
“We are very excited to bring both of these topics to the forefront for attendees,” said K. Drew Ayers, Air Force Materiel Command acquisition fraud counsel at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
Ayers will present information about identifying small business fraud.
“Across the Defense Department and civilian agencies, suspension and debarment actions against small businesses have been high for the past few years,” he said. “During the Fraud Working Group we will discuss some reasons why this may be.”
Presenters will also discuss some upcoming regulation changes by the Small Business Administration.
Amy Bryan, 66th Air Base Group contract law attorney, and Lori-Ann Rissler, Program Executive Office Digital contracting and agreements officer, will present “Agile Acquisition at Kessel Run.”
In addition to these offerings, officials will offer a presentation Oct. 24 from 2 to 3 p.m. in Building 1604 for contracting officers on protecting sensitive information.
“Defense contractors are often trusted to protect our nation’s most classified information related to our national security,” said Ayers. “Information such as research and development data, technical designs and capabilities of the DoD are all things we must protect from our adversaries.”
