HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The Department of the Air Force, in cooperation with the Veterans Administration, announces the availability of a draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for a project at the Patriot Golf Course in Bedford, Massachusetts.
The proposed action is to restore unrestricted access, particularly for emergency vehicles, over an unnamed tributary, and to improve safety and accessibility to all areas of the nine-hole golf course for pedestrians, golf carts and vehicle traffic. The scope of the project requires work in areas designated wetlands and includes partial restoration of a stream channel.
The draft EA, prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, the Council on Environmental Quality regulations and Air Force instructions implementing NEPA, evaluates potential impacts of the proposed action and alternatives on the environment including the “No Action Alternative.”
Based on this analysis, the Air Force has prepared a proposed FONSI. The Air Force seeks public comments on the Draft EA and Draft FONSI and will consider all input received before reaching a final decision.
Copies of the Draft EA and FONSI are available for review and download.
Anyone without internet access is encouraged to contact their local library or city hall for assistance in downloading the document. The 66th Civil Engineering Division will consider requests for hardcopies on a case-by-case basis.
