HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Base officials recently highlighted the Family Child Care program here by naming a provider of the year for 2019.

Kari Jones, a licensed Family Child Care provider, offers in-home child care options for military and civilian families with children ages two weeks to 12 years old.

“Kari has been a tremendous asset to the Hanscom Family Child Care program,” said Robin Morris, 66th Force Support Squadron FCC training and curriculum specialist. “She provides excellent educational experiences for children in her care.”

Jones has been an FCC provider since 2017. She cares for early preschool, pre-kindergarten and early elementary-aged children from her home off base.

“I have the freedom to build an at home preschool program utilizing my elementary school teaching degree all while being able to stay at home to raise my own children,” said Jones.

According to Morris, the program has openings for anyone interested in becoming a provider.

“The Family Child Care program is critical in supporting the need for providers at Hanscom Air Force Base,” said Scott Craver, 66 FSS Child and Youth Services Flight chief.
